River Restoration Strategy Project, Wooler, Northumberland
CEBEC designed and project managed a challenging project to remove pressure off an eroding bank on the edge of the village of Wooler.
CEBEC proposed to move the newly formed low flow channel back into its old site. This allowed us to stabilise the eroded back in dry conditions.
Using root wad timbers we created a timber matrix that was packed with stones and gravel. A layer of top soils and coir matting was used and a final dressing of grass seed to stabilise the bank. Once completed the area was fenced off from livestock.
